Tradition & Experience
Our guests love us because we’re in a beautiful yet convenient location. South Kona is physically gorgeous and retains its laid-back local feel. Luana Inn is located in an idyllic microclimate with lots to do close by. Our guests’ favorite activities include: Snorkeling at Manini Beach, Two Step, and the Captain Cook monument, kayaking in Kealakekua Bay, swimming, lounging, and boogie boarding at Keei Beach and Hookena Beach, walking and hiking the Captain Cook trail and 1871 trail, exploring Pu’uhonua O Honaunau (City of Refuge National Park), running, biking, bird-watching, walking to the Kona Pacific Farmers Cooperative and Big Island bees honey museum, eating at Mi’s Italian Bistro, Manago Hotel, Keei Café, Annie’s Burgers and Beer, going on coffee tours at Greenwell Farms and the Kona Living History Museum, and visiting local gardens and landmarks like Amy B. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden, Paleaku Peace Gardens, and the Painted Church, getting in-room massage, playing in the hot tub and pool, and sunbathing/drinking wine/BBQ’ing/lounging on our fabulous lanai and watching the sun set and the stars appear.
We stayed for five nights and wished we were staying longer. This is one of the best B&Bs we have every stayed in. Our room, the Moana, was spacious and comfortable. The view of the ocean every morning was fabulous. Morning breakfasts were delicious and included delightful conversation with other guests and, of course, Erin and Ken, who ensured that our stay was the best it could be.
