Aloha and welcome to our site. It is our pleasure to introduce you to Luana Inn.
At just three hundred feet above sea level in South Kona’s tranquil Kealakekua Bay Historical Reserve, Luana Inn overlooks the most beautiful snorkeling waters in the Hawaiian Islands. We’re within walking distance of Napo’opo’o Pier and Manini beach - the gateway to extraordinary Kealakekua Bay - and within minutes of quiet, sandy Ke'ei Beach, Pu’uhonua O Honaunau, Two Step, and the Captain Cook Monument trail. We are perfectly situated for guests who want to fully experience this spectacular area as well as explore the entire Big Island. (For more detailed information about our location including a map, please see our About Us page, and read Location Details and our FAQ.)
Luana Inn is a makai (ocean) property (versus mauka, or mountain/upcountry). This means a panoramic ocean and sky view in a sunny, dry micro-climate and a bright, open, airy property. The Inn consists of two homes, a spacious modern home and a Hawaiian Ohana cottage for a total of five oversized guest rooms. Our style is simple, clean, and modern. All five guest rooms include modern amenities and comforts including: private bathrooms, private entrances, luxurious memory foam mattresses, kitchenettes, air conditioners, flat screen TV’s with Blu-Ray players, and free WiFi. We’ve tried to think of everything our guests need to be comfortable here, and provide it. For more information about our rooms, please visit our Accommodations Page and our Gallery.
We will do just about anything to make our guests happy. We work very hard to provide outstanding, yet unobtrusive service to our guests. This is a family business and we live on site with our two children, but we respect our guests’ relaxation time and are only as present as guests need or want us to be. Our pricing includes access to all amenities, abundant information, maid service, and a generous full breakfast including fresh fruit (from our land whenever possible), fabulous local coffee, homemade baked goodies and delicious hot mains. For a more detailed description of our fabulous breakfast, please visit our FAQ page.
The meaning of Luana
Luana is the root word of luau, and essentially means to enjoy oneself, relax, and be content. We encourage our guests to embrace this island philosophy. Rather than use us as a quick stop on a check-list journey around the island, we invite guests to use us as a base. This is a spectacular area with lots to do close by, and we encourage our guests to settle in, relax, and tap into Hawaiian time. Our property was designed with this in mind: large comfortable rooms, an expansive ocean view lanai with pool, hot tub, BBQ, and lots of lounging space, and lovely large grounds meant to be enjoyed.
In the spirit of aloha, we invite you to experience Luana for yourself. Please contact us for more information or for reservations.
